Injured Prannoy withdraws from Denmark and French Open

Indian badminton star HS Prannoy has been forced to withdraw from the Denmark Open Super 750 tournament and the French Open Super 750 tournament due to a back injury. The 31-year-old had battled excruciating back pain to secure India's first medal in men's singles in 41 years at the recently-concluded Asian Games in Hangzhou, China.

Prannoy's withdrawal is a big blow to Indian badminton, as he was one of the country's top medal contenders at both tournaments. However, the Indian team will still be led by Lakshya Sen, who is ranked 15th in the world.

Prannoy's injury is also a reminder of the physica

l demands of badminton, as players often have to push their bodies to the limit in order to compete at the highest level. It is important for players to listen to their bodies and rest when they need to.

Prannoy is expected to be out of action for two to three weeks, and he is targeting a return to action at the Swiss Open Super 300 tournament in March 2024.
